Stop Making Yourself and Everybody Else Miserable: Improve Your Attitude!
Scientists tell us that the average person has over 60,000 unique thoughts each and every day. Our attitudes are determined by our thoughts. 90% of these thoughts occur subconsciously. Our subconscious mind produces these 90% meaning that they will occur without the involvement of our consciousness. In other words, they will pop into our heads automatically given certain external stimuli.
The problem with this is that many of these automatic thoughts are negative. When you have negative thoughts, it limits you and your ability to grow in wisdom. It creates a bad attitude. These thoughts that occur without your intent can actually prevent you from succeeding. They also cause you and the people around you to be unhappy.
For instance, how many people have you known in your life who have claimed to hate smoking cigarettes, but continue to do so? How many obese people do you know who are constantly claiming to want to take control of their weight problems? Why is it that when they try to stop smoking or lose weight, they fail? It’s because they lack true intention.
The reason for their failure has everything to do with their attitudes. They have allowed their minds to be trained over the years to think that their negative thoughts hold some positive value. They don’t even question their negativity. Like programmed robots, they just continue these behaviors until they die or wish that they were dead.
So what is the answer? How to we filter through our 90% passive thoughts and find how to eliminate the negative ones? It has everything to do with intention. If you don’t intend to act positively, then you will undoubtedly find yourself enveloped in negativity from time to time. Here are some tips for you to consider that can help you improve your bad attitude by eliminating your negative thoughts.
