Water: The Integral Component of all Life
It should come as no surprise to you that there would be no life without water. Without the constant cycle of the earth’s water being in place, all living creatures, plants and algae would die.

That would effectively leave nothing except sand and dust. Without water, your muscles would lose all elasticity. Your joints would dehydrate and become brittle. You would shrivel, both internally and externally.
Maybe in your life you have seen a cadaver or at least pictures of dead bodies in documentaries. When life ends, it stops taking in water, hence it dehydrates. All cellular structures that comprise the body shrivel and with enough time, fall to dust.
The food that you ingest, like yourself, is comprised mainly of water. Common iceberg lettuce is roughly 98% water. Celery, carrots, apples, oranges, grapes, spinach, nuts, greens and every other thing that you can possibly think of to eat is basically water. Most all vegetables are comprised of over 90% water. These are water-rich foods.

Lamb, chicken, beef, pork and fish are also largely composed of water, but not to the point of vegetables and fruits. Animals, including humans, are roughly between 60% and 70% water. While that is a lot, these are not what we call water-rich foods.
It makes good logical sense that being comprised mainly of water ourselves; we should take in a lot of water. One of the many ignorant trends of the human race is that we do not. We have heard it all of our lives. Every single health professional will agree that water is integral to our survival. Still, the average human will drink coffee, tea, soda, beer, wine, whiskey and energy drinks, but not a lot of water.
Drinking 5 cups of coffee in the morning is not the same thing as drinking 5 cups of water in the morning. Having a 64 oz big gulp of Coca-Cola is not the same thing as drinking at ½ gal of pure water. You see coffee and Coca-Cola contain impurities. They must be broken down, filtered and purified by our kidneys and livers. Water on the other hand, helps to dissolve the impurities at hand already and flush them away.

So, this is nothing you don’t already know. As a matter of fact, most of the things that will better your health, you have already heard at least 1000 times during your life. A question is: are you going to embrace change or not? If you do not, you have a variety of diseases to look forward to. If you do, you have a long and wonderful life ahead of you. That’s the bottom line.
The next time you feel like chugging down a big glass of soda pop or a 32 oz iced cappuccino from Dunkin’ Donuts, opt to have some water instead. Maybe you’ll have to sacrifice that sugar rush and that burst of artificial flavors, but is it worth it to begin to have a healthier lifestyle? The choice is yours. The advice is to always choose cool, crisp, refreshing, rejuvenating, healthful and pure water.
